Project Overview: £46,000 FREE ECO4 Grant in Cumbria
In January 2025, we undertook one of our largest projects in Cumbria under the ECO4 program, which qualified through flexible eligibility due to health conditions. The application was submitted to Cumberland Council, which responded promptly, and we received approval within two weeks. We scheduled the installation for three weeks later.
This project involved significant planning, including heat loss surveys to determine the appropriate specifications for the installation. The comprehensive upgrades included internal wall insulation, an air source heat pump, and a large solar panel system, all at zero cost to the homeowner. The home's Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) improved dramatically from a low rating of F to an impressive A.
The installation of the internal wall insulation took one week, followed by the plumbing work for the air source heat pump, which was carefully planned based on survey findings regarding the placement of the cylinder, outdoor unit, and radiator sizes. The solar panels were installed simultaneously with the air source heat pump, completing the project efficiently.
